Meet Seph
Hia! I’m Seph – a local trans, neurospicy, liberation-focused (for Palestine, and for all) therapist. My goal as a therapist is to be as real with you as possible; not that ‘what do you think that means?’ type of therapist, but someone who sees you as an equal, with deep compassion and empathy, and who will challenge you where you feel you need it. I bring my authentic, messy, scatterbrained self into session, and I hope you will too.
Queerness, Neurodivergence & Identity
Are you queer, trans, GNC? Neurospicy? Struggling with your identity or self-esteem? Living with chronic health issues? Trying to break the cycle of generational trauma?
The journey I’ve taken to discover my own queer, neurodivergent self — and to heal — has been messy (dare I say cringey), beautiful, ever-growing, and always changing. My love for feminist theory and social advocacy has helped me hone the skill of naming and calling out the systems of oppression we all experience harm from every day, authentically and unapologetically.
I want to support you as you challenge the systems causing you the most harm — whether that’s your boss, your family, or even yourself (and sometimes, that’s the hardest one). Together, we’ll work through what isn’t serving you and help you reconnect with what does.
My Style: Direct, Gentle, and Deeply Gen-Z
Let’s be honest: I am a Gen-Z’er. This means I will swear, make jokes, reference the same TikToks you’ve probably seen, ask to decipher that unhinged text from your ex, and probably have a fidget toy in hand.
I tend to be rather direct, but gentle, in how I show up in session. Instead of giving you the answer, I like to leave a breadcrumb trail of my observations so you can reach your own conclusion or gain a clearer understanding of yourself, your relationships, or the situation at hand. Think: the perfect combo of seriousness and humor wrapped in a nice therapeutic bow.
Trauma-Informed in a Traumatizing World
Have you seen the news? It feels impossible not to take a trauma-informed approach in the current climate. You turn on the TV or scroll through your feed and are passively being traumatized.
Regardless of whether you have a PTSD or CPTSD diagnosis, we’ll explore the things you’re bringing into session through the lens of trauma – how both big and small experiences can have a widespread impact on your mental health, your body, your stress response, and the way you interact with the world.
Seph Outside of the Therapy Room:
I am equally a homebody and someone who’s always out and about. If I’m home, I’m probably playing video games on my PC or Switch, baking a lil sweet treat, or crafting something random.
If I’m out, I’m probably thrift or vintage shopping, foraging for mushrooms in Frick Park with my dog, or attending a protest.
