Meet Joanna

Hey! My name’s Joanna and I am the Billing Operations Lead here at CPC, which basically means I do a little bit of everything. I handle the small daily stuff like submitting claims and processing payments, but I also take care of the bigger-picture things like denied claims, posting, improving systems, and supporting Chelsea with administrative tasks when needed.

I’ve been in the insurance world since 2018.

I started out in dental but eventually found my way to mental health. Because I’ve worked across different spaces, I’ve learned how important it is to communicate clearly and lead with empathy, especially when it comes to finances. A lot of people carry financial stress (me included), so I try to talk to people the way I’d want to be treated: with clarity, flexibility, and grace, but also with honesty. I think a lot of issues around insurance come from misunderstandings, so a little patience and communication can go a long way. That’s something I try to offer and also hope to receive in return.

I’ve been around small business and finances for most of my life.

I used to help my parents with their books as a kid, so numbers and systems have always felt natural to me. Billing is basically patterns (hello, ADHD), and I genuinely enjoy the challenge of pushing back on denied claims and getting things paid the way they should be.

Joanna Outside of Work:

Outside of work, I have a cute cat, I love spending time with my friends, and I’m definitely a social person. I think having my head in spreadsheets all day probably balances me out, it makes me more excited to be out and about after hours. I’ve also been on a fitness journey lately and have somehow become an unironic gym bro (but like, in a self-aware way).
